The rapid development of information and communication technology requires students not only to be able to use technology but also to understand the basic concepts underlying how it works. One of the fundamental concepts in digital technology systems is data transmission, which plays a crucial role in the process of sending and receiving information through various devices and networks. However, in practice, most junior high school students still utilize digital technology merely as users without understanding the basic mechanisms of data transmission that occur behind the use of the internet and everyday digital applications. This condition indicates the need for educational efforts focused on introducing and improving technological literacy from an early stage. This community service activity aims to enhance junior high school students’ understanding and technological literacy through the socialization of basic data transmission concepts. The activity was conducted at SMP Al Awwal Palembang using an educational and participatory approach. The implementation method consisted of a pre-activity stage involving coordination with the school and initial observations, a preparation stage for materials and supporting equipment, the implementation of face-to-face socialization using interactive methods, and an evaluation and reflection stage. The materials delivered included the definition of data transmission, types of transmission media, directions of data transmission, and examples of its application in everyday life. The results of the activity indicate that students gained a better understanding of basic data transmission concepts and demonstrated high enthusiasm throughout the activity. In addition, the program succeeded in fostering students’ interest and curiosity in the field of information technology. Overall, this community service activity contributed positively to improving students’ technological literacy and supporting the strengthening of information technology–based education at the junior high school level.
